E-Business Breakfast: Galactic New Name For TIS Worldwide

TIS Worldwide borrowed a galactic theme for its new name: Starpoint Solutions. Company spokespeople tell us that Starpoint's annual revenue went to $108 million in 2000 from $104 million in 1999 (the company is not publicly traded).

Starpoint, New York, says its "digital product life-cycle" strategy helps clients reduce the risk of investing in e-business technology. Bob Gold, co-CEO of the company, says software solutions must be "managed with the same care and attention as any 'physical' product."

Check out Starpoint's Web site for more information, and get details about Starpoint's experience selling Sun workstations here.

Good morning! It's Thursday, March 1, and this is Amy Rogers with CRN's E-Business Breakfast.

SilverSteam, Billerica, Mass., and WebTrends, Portland, Ore., say they plan to integrate their respective products to give customers new ways to apply e-business analytics to SilverStream's platform.

Executives at the companies say their products' integration will let companies tailor online promotions and other offerings to end users' browsing and buying preferences.

Lastly, Inforte stuck another feather in its CRM cap this week with the completion of the first phase of its engagement with Meriwest Credit Union.

The Chicago-based Web integrator used Siebel software to implement a system that Meriwest customer service reps could use to view up-to-date information about customers' accounts. The CRM application has been integrated with Meriwest's core financial system.

Inforte is also developing a Vignette solution to improve customers' online experiences at meriwest.com.

Read about some of Inforte's staffing strategies here.
