ASP Agilera acquired messaging solutions provider United Messaging Wednesday for an undisclosed amount.

Agilera provides hosted Microsoft Exchange, while United Messaging offers both Microsoft and Lotus messaging solutions.

Little news has come out of Agilera since its Siebel and SAP ASP subsidiary Applicast filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February of this year.

In May 2001, Agilera restructured in the hopes of reaching profitability. At the time, the ASP consolidated its operations into seven metropolitan locations and company CEO Paul Rudolph was replaced by Robert Unger.

Ciber and Verio formed Agilera in February 2000.
