Lawson Software said Friday it has moved to acquire Numbercraft, a U.K.-based consulting firm and ISV that develops analytics applications for retailers and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies. <P> Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Executives said in a statement that the acquisition is expected to have no material impact on Lawson's fiscal 2004 financial results. <P> Numbercraft's products help CPG companies process large amounts of customer, product and sales data. Lawson said it intends to launch some analytics products based on Numbercraft's technology, and to continue to support and develop Numbercraft's consulting business. <P> Lawson, St. Paul, Minn., develops ERP products and competes with the former J.D. Edwards (now part of PeopleSoft), SAP and other vendors. <P>
