TechSelect Members Outpacing Rest of Tech Data Solution Providers

Sales from TechSelect, Tech Data's SMB-focused solution provider organization, increased at a higher rate in 23 of 33 vendor partners in the TechSelect program, executives told 350 vendor partners at the Tech Data 2004 Summit here.

Fifteen of the 33 vendors experienced double-digit growth, said Stacy Nethercoat, vice president of inside sales and service.

Revenue from Tech Select members grew 5 percent last year, compared to an 8-percent decline for Tech Data as a whole.

"Five percent isn't as impressive as it might have been a few years ago, but it's pretty good in today's market," Nethercoat said.

TechSelect has prospered in the last year after the organization was moved into the inside sales group, Nethercoat said.

"And we have added resources to drive it and help them get more engagement," she said.
