E-Learning Heating Up

With the cost of training rising and the uncertainty of a slowed economy, resellers have voiced concerns about continuing education costs for their employees. Distributors, as a result, are working to reduce training costs and increase availability of training programs by adding enhanced e-learning opportunities to their offerings.

Tech Data, Clearwater, Fla., for example, has just partnered with KnowledgeNet.com to bring a suite of electronic learning opportunities to Tech Data resellers. The key is to give resellers access to training courses from anywhere in the country, which reduces time out of the office or away from the sales field.

The Tech Data/KnowledgeNet partnership will give resellers access to Cisco and Microsoft products and to program training via live, instructor-led, e-learning sessions, condensed replay versions of these live sessions, or self-paced multimedia courses.

There is a 24/7 mentoring feature, as well as hands-on labs and simulations that complement the suite as well.
