The distributor's Universal Enterprise Storage Labs, currently located in Minneapolis and Atlanta, provide storage benchmarking and solution testing services to solution providers, said Mike Long, president and COO of the group.

However, the labs have started to transition from a storage-only focus to providing similar services for multiple applications, including security and data processing, Long said. This will include testing solutions with a wider range of hardware and software products, he said. "We are getting so many requests for benchmarking and building solutions, so we don't want to focus just on storage," he said.

The reconfigured labs, for which a name has yet to be chosen, are expected to be opened in August or September, Long said.
