E-Business Breakfast: Open Market Tweaks E-Commerce Tools

By Amy Rogers, CRN

Open Market this week upgraded some of its e-commerce tools.

The Burlington, Mass.-based software developer released Catalog Centre 3.5 and Marketing Studio 3.5. Catalog Centre is a catalog development tool that creates indexes and manages content, while Marketing Studio is software for collecting data about site visitors for use in future promotions and sales.

For the first time, these products support iPlanet's application server. Open Market's products already work with application servers from BEA and IBM.

Analysis Connector is a new feature added to Marketing Studio that forms a bridge between Open Market's Content Server 3.5 and other vendors' data reporting and analysis tools.

Open Market released a new version of its content server in March; get details here.

Good morning! It's Wednesday, June 13, and this is Amy Rogers with CRN's E-Business Breakfast.

B2B marketplace Quadrem picked Corio as its ASP of choice.

Quadrem, an exchange that supports transactions in the mining, metals and minerals industries, uses MarketSet, the jointly developed product from Commerce One and SAPmarkets. The exchange also runs two content management products from Requisite, BugsEye and eMerge, as well as mySAP.com, SAP's customized portal offering.

Now Corio will take over management of these applications. The ASP also has relationships with Enporion and ForestExpress. Read more about ForestExpress' business strategy here.

Unisys' new e-@ction logistics applications were selected by Polar Air Cargo.

Unisys, Blue Bell, Pa., developed the applications to give business customers access to transportation services on the Net.

Polar Air Cargo customers can use the applications, which the airline has branded eCargo, to check schedules, book flights and check on the status of shipments.

That's your E-Business Breakfast for Wednesday. If transportation is not one of your verticals of choice, what is? Health are? Consumer goods? Let me know; I'm at arogers@cmp.com.
