Siemens Names President For U.S. Convergence Subsidiary

Siemens Information and Communication Networks

The company named Licata president of Siemens Enterprise Networks (SEN) in the U.S., replacing George Nolen, who last week took over as CEO of Siemens ICN.

Siemens ICN is the U.S. telecommunications unit of Munich-based Siemens AG.

Reston, Va.-based SEN, which produces the HiPath IP telephony product lines, earlier this week introduced new management tools at the VoiceCon 2002 show in Washington.

The HiPath MetaManagement management suite for converged networks enables Web-based administration of infrastructure and applications for networks ranging from 200 to 200,000 ports, the company said.

The suite includes two components. The first, HiPath Fault Management, monitors circuit-switched and IP network components for faults, provides help for resolving problems and notifies network administrators when they occur. The second, HiPath Accounting Management, enables multiple administrators to concurrently gather statistics on voice, data and Web traffic.
