EDS Realigns Solutions Practices

The company says as of April 15, its information solutions, e-solutions and business process management units will be rolled into two new organizations, called operations solutions and solutions consulting.

The operations solutions unit will combine EDS' traditional IT outsourcing operations with business process outsourcing. It will be led by Doug Frederick, former president of information solutions, who has been named executive vice president and sector executive for operations solutions.

The solutions consulting unit will bring together the company's e-solutions and applications services businesses. It will be led by Paulett Eberhart, former president of information solutions U.S., who has been named president of solutions consulting.

In addition, 36-year EDS veteran Paul Chiapparone, who has been vice president of operations since 2000, has been named vice chairman of EDS, while EDS e-solutions president John McCain says he is leaving the company to pursue other interests.
