3Com Expands Network Jack Distribution

3Com

Originally targeted at cabling contractors, 3Com is hoping that networking solution providers and resellers will take on the Network Jack by expanding distribution to Tech Data, Ingram Micro and Synnex in addition to Graybar, said Terry Bagley, director of North American channel sales at the networking hardware vendor.

3Com's NJ100 Network Jack provides four 10/100 unmanaged switch ports that fit into any standard wall cutout or modular furniture opening. The NJ100 Network Jack is installed in a cubicle, office, conference room or classroom, giving four active 10/100 ports that are connected to a LAN switch in the wiring closet by a single Ethernet cable.

The NJ100 is the first in a family of network jack products, said Trey Wafer, product manager. 3Com plans to release more network jack products by the end of the year that add features such as manageability, security and wireless to the platform, Wafer said.
