Salesnet Adds New Features To Sales Force Automation Solution

Salesnet

Called Salesnet Extended, the new version includes a Web services API built using Microsoft's .Net framework, and Offline capability for remote workers and multiple screen layouts.

The new API allows customers to integrate other enterprise applications with Salesnet's.

"This gives them the ability to push and pull data into Salesnet remotely and gives the customers tighter control over critical business data while trying to integrate with other platforms," said Jeffrey Glasson, director of technology for Salesnet, based here.

A Web browser enables employees to access an offline feature that lets them download Salesnet data they want on the road, edit the data and upload the information back into Salesnet when back in the office. By the third quarter of this year, Salesnet expects to introduce an offline capability for Windows CE devices.

The multiple layout feature targets larger companies with more complex sales processes. The new feature includes customizable views into the sales process by department or any view the administrator chooses. Customers, for example, can create large database fields using Salesnet's software, in some cases up to 300 different views.

The administrator may in turn designate who in the company has access to which fields. The software also designates if the user has read-only access or editing privileges.
