>> Intel, EMC, Toshiba and ViewSonic racked up higher satisfaction scores in the past month, while Cisco, Lexmark, Sun and IBM saw their satisfaction levels decline.

Intel, EMC, Toshiba and ViewSonic showed significant increases in the overall level of satisfaction in July compared with June, while HP-Compaq showed a smaller gain. In the case of Intel, EMC and ViewSonic, the percentage of satisfied solution providers increased while the percentage of dissatisfied solution providers declined, fueling the strong rise in overall satisfaction. For Toshiba, the gain was the result of a drop in the percentage of dissatisfied solution providers.

Other major vendors saw declines in the overall level of satisfaction. Cisco and Lexmark saw the most pronounced losses, with the declines less steep for vendors such as IBM, Sun and Advanced Micro Devices. The percentage dissatisfied with Cisco's programs reached a record high in July, while the percentage satisfied declined for the second month in a row. But even with July's drop, Cisco's overall satisfaction level was still tied for second-highest (with Lexmark) among the 11 vendors surveyed, ranking behind only Intel.
