Electronics Boutique Holdings Corp. today said it has split its online retail business into a separate division and named an executive to head the group.

The 547-store retailer of PC and console games and peripherals named Seth Levy, formerly chief information officer, president of EBWorld.com, Inc. He will report directly to Electronics Boutique President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Firestone.

John Brittell will serve as director of interactive services and report to Levy.

The company's EBWorld Web site generated $4.3 million in sales last year, and Firestone said in a press release he believes online sales could exceed $16 million in 1999.

In order to support anticipated growth, Electronics Boutique said it plans to open a customer service center in Las Vegas this summer. The call center would support EB's Web site, mail order, and store operations.
