Partner Sales Buoy Documentum's Third Quarter

Partner-influenced license sales grew to 80 percent of total license sales during the third quarter ended Sept. 30, a rise from 70 percent in the previous quarter.

The enterprise content management vendor's overall sales were up 24 percent over the prior-year period, climbing to $56.3 million from $45.3 million. That was slightly above the company's earlier forecast, which had anticipated sales of between $55 million and $56 million.

The company, meanwhile, reported a profit of $2 million, which was up from a loss of $473,000 last quarter and a loss of $7.8 in the third quarter last year.

The company released a new version of its enterprise content management platform in September, Documentum 5, which makes it easier for solution providers to develop applications. The company also entered into an agreement to acquire eRoom Technology, a maker of collaboration software.
