Fiorina Keynote Focuses On HP Vision

Fiorina said that having the latest and greatest point products may be "cool," but partnerships such as those between HP and companies such as Boeing and DreamWorks can lead to products with the depth and breadth needed to serve users' needs now and into the future.

Because of these partnerships, "I come to this conference more hopeful for the future than ever before," Fiorina said.

HP's Adaptive Infrastructure initiative includes efforts focused on industrywide standards and modular designs in order to help customers cut computing costs, she said.

Also, Fiorina said HP is making continuing investments in virtualization and capacity management for devices such as servers, handhelds and printers.

HP's investments in OpenView network management software will help customers manage their infrastructures on an end-to-end basis, Fiorina said.

HP will also use its 65,000 services personnel to optimize customers' infrastructures all the way out to mobile and handheld devices, she said.
