HP, NEC Disclose Outsourcing Pact

The pact was announced in Tokyo by HP Chairman and CEO Carly Fiorina and NEC President Koji Nishigaki

Under the terms of the deal, HP and NEC will initially target global customers based in China, Japan and the United States, with plans to expand to other regions, including Southeast Asia and Europe.

HP and NEC said they will establish a joint marketing team to pitch the new services, which will range from 'selective managed services to comprehensive outsourcing, in which the alliance would take over a customer's IT assets and associated human resources.'

They added that customers would benefit from HP's service-management methods and global support structure, coupled with NEC's experience in providing outsourcing services.
