Released Monday, the FP991 LCD monitor--with its slim-edge thin-bezel design--keeps the flat panel's dimensions trimmer than some displays with smaller screens.

Finished in metallic gray, the FP991 features both analog and digital inputs, so it's easy to connect to the latest digital graphics adapters or the older VGA-only cards.

The monitor features a brightness of 300 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 700:1 for clear, sharp picture quality. Not a wide-screen unit, the 19-inch LCD has a standard aspect ratio, just in a very large size. The screen is big enough to display two letter-size documents side-by-side. That makes the display perfect for publishing, as well as CAD/CAM and other engineering applications. The display pivots for landscape or portrait use, making it that much more versatile, while its iKey autocalibration system automatically adjusts quality and settings with a single touch.

The display offers a crisp picture for any video player, which is a plus for vertical markets that require the use of training videos. The LCD image quality is so good that the monitor would also be suitable for use in high-end graphics, photo editing and retouching, and in applications in which accurate color reproduction is important.

Engineers found the unit to display sharp, readable text. It also displays white scales and black scales as well as any display. Colors are vivid, bright and true to life.
