Microsoft Queues Up Yet Another Solution Accelerator

This offering, Microsoft Office Solution Accelerator for Proposals, takes aim at salespeople who want to more easily create sales proposals and reuse or repackage existing legal and product information in the process, Microsoft said in a statement.

Several partners took part in the development, including Quilogy, Pragmatech Software, Wipro Technologies and Xerox Global Services, Microsoft said.

Microsoft, which launched this Solution Accelerator program in September, a month before the formal Office 2003 launch, has seven such accelerators in the works for now (See story.) It shipped the recruiting accelerator last month.

Still to come are accelerators for XBRL, or the extensible business reporting language, business scorecarding, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Six Sigma.

Accelerators typically include templates and sample code and documentation to streamline custom applications, the company has said.
