Allaire Announces Record Revenues

Allaire Corp. announced Thursday record financial results for the second quarter, with revenue of more than $33 million,an increase of 155 percent from the same period a year ago.

Revenue for the second quarter, which ended June 30, increased 25 percent from the previous quarter. The increase represents a strong showing for the Internet software company that, along with many other e-businesses and service providers, braved a hostile stock market in April.

Despite the gloomy spring, Allaire officials didn't blink and set their sights high. "We felt very good about this quarter," says Steve Clark, vice president of marketing for Allaire. "It was pretty much what we had expected."

Clark said the performance of its ColdFusion and Spectra software products played a big part in the company's recent success, as well as Allaire's new release of JRun, a J2EE Java application server. Allaire also continued expanding its target range for customers.

"We've always been focused on productivity and getting people connected quickly," Clark says. "We're not just focusing on dot coms. We're also focusing on Global 1000 businesses as well as smaller and midsized markets."

In addition, Allaire will continue to build its partnership base in the near future, Clark said. The company recently teamed up with Intel to optimize Allaire's ColdFusion software for Intel's Pentium III Xeon processors.
