Sun Taps Accenture For CRM Pact

The two companies, which have been working together in various capacities for the last decade, say they will step up the cooperation to help clients accelerate deployment of Internet-based CRM solutions, which the company says can lower the total cost of ownership and overall risk.

The first initiative, the creation of a single destination for clients' CRM needs, will be led by Accenture consultants and will leverage Sun servers and storage as well as its Open Net Environment and Sun technical consulting, training and support services. The two companies have already implemented the Web-centric CRM technology in Sun's contact centers.

The move, say Sun officials, is part of the company's ongoing strategy to get closer to global systems integrators. The Accenture agreement comes less than two months after the company inked a strategic agreement with PWC Consulting to jointly deliver cross-industry critical business solutions.
