Essentially an interactive application integration environment, NeuArchitect 4.0 eliminates technology obsolescence by separating business logic from deployment environments. In most IT shops, developers build software components based on a project's requirements, while technology architects focus on an application's actual deployment. NeuArchitect 4.0 changes those roles by bridging application development and deployment, potentially saving significant time because it eliminates code dependence on a platform.

Once all the application requirements are defined, NeuArchitect 4.0 casts all the components into a specific platform such as Microsoft's .Net, Sun Microsystems' Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) or Oracle. Through a library of construction templates, NeuVis' tool automates deployment by generating and compiling all the optimized code required for an application to run in the targeted environment.

NeuVis doesn't consider most UML modeling and IDEs in the market as rival products. In fact, NeuArchitect 4.0 integrates with Rational, TogetherSoft and JBuilder and complements the development process by automating deployment and integrating code from disparate systems.

NeuArchitect 4.0 supports some of the top J2EE app servers (BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere and Oracle9iAS) plus legacy CICS and MVS programs. As part of legacy integration, NeuArchitect 4.0 includes MVS data connectors and iWay adapters. Database code that works with VSAM schemas or any ODBC-compliant database also can be integrated or directly converted.

NeuArchitect 4.0 generates code for Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs), CORBA and COM++and can accept code at the API level from any app that supports those object protocols,a big plus for developers. If a company merger required a change in operating environments, it previously could take weeks to change the code from two different platforms. But using NeuArchitect 4.0, which works with hybrid technologies, code from COM objects can be converted to EJBs in just a few clicks.

All the models in NeuArchitect 4.0 follow UML-class model standards. The product includes templates to build wireless user interfaces and Web services. B2B integration can be done via XML, EDI or Web services.
