NeuArchitect 4.0 Adds Development Platform Support
NeuArchitect 4.0 includes more than 70 code templates to cut the time it takes an application developer to hand-code, said Randy Newell, vice president of marketing and business development for NeuVis, based here.
The tool also supports several new development platforms, said Newell. NeuArchitect 4.0 now is synchronized with Rational's Rational Rose visual modeling tool, supports Web services for the BEA Systems WebLogic app server and includes integrated debugging for the Borland JBuilder and IBM WebSphere Application Developer IDEs, he added.

One of a new set of tools to help application developers build complex Java 2, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) applications faster, NeuArchitect provides developers with a unified modeling language environment in which they can visually model an entire application. The tool then turns that model into code, creating application code appropriate for the platform being supported.
NeuVis CEO and President Bill Lyons said NeuArchitect saves solution providers money because they can use their existing developer base to build applications in environments with which they are not very familiar. "We enable you to preserve your human resources to use your existing staffs to create these new-economy applications," said Lyons.
About two-thirds of NeuVis sales are influenced by solution providers and technology partners, he said.
Girish Gupta, a consultant for Shelton-based solution provider Technology Solution Partners, said NeuArchitect has enabled his team to build end-to-end e-business applications in one-quarter the time. "If it is left to us to use a product to deliver our applications, our first priority is [to use NeuArchitect," said Gupta.
Reese Howle, president of Alpha-Gamma Technologies, Raleigh, N.C., said NeuArchitect is the reason his company could integrate a complex XML and EDI solution on time. "To accomplish what we wanted to do in two weeks easily could've taken two months," he said. "[NeuArchitect made the impossible doable within 10 business days."
