Tibco Focuses On Verticals, Taps Partners

Tibco tackles financial services, manufacturing, oil and gas, and utilities.

The verticals are financial services, manufacturing, oil and gas and utilities. While the Vertical Solutions Partner Program is being developed, Tibco offers incentives for partners to join, co-develop and co-market industry-specific solutions.

"This is getting closer to a true value-added reseller model," said Peter Tebbenhoff, director of industry solutionsat Tibco. "This initiative is a key component to broaden our channel strategy, so it's a step in that direction."

One of the new solutions, Tibco Real-Time Customer Service for Utilities, was co-developed with partners Accenture and Siebel and features out-of-the-box integration between Siebel e-Energy and CIS systems to provide call centers with a comprehensive view of customer information, Tebbenhoff said.

Kevin Narcomey, partner with Accenture's utilities division, said Accenture initially invited Tibco to co-develop a utilities industry solution. "Then Tibco took the ball and ran with it, working with Siebel to move it forward," he said. "When they were ready, they pulled us back in, so the relationship works both ways. It's been great."
