The enhanced versions of Spectrum Infinity (for service providers) and Spectrum Integrity (for enterprises) also add support for additional SAN and other network devices, the company said.

New devices supported include wireless LAN, content switching, VLAN and VoIP products from Cisco Systems, the GSX 9000 media gateway from Sonus Networks, Brocade's Silkworm SAN devices and other products from vendors such as Avaya, Juniper Networks and Microsoft.

With support for new technology such as wireless and VoIP, Spectrum's enhancements give service providers and enterprises a more complete view of their infrastructure, said Mike Skubisz, president and CEO of Aprisma, Portsmouth, N.H.

"We don't manage them as isolated pieces; we manage them as part of the overall infrastructure," Skubisz said.

Solution providers working with Aprisma should find opportunities to offer higher-end consulting services around its products, which provide root-cause analysis and fault isolation, he said.

"In the past, systems integrators have made money on [competitors such as Hewlett-Packard's OpenView, but it was relatively low-value consulting, how to integrate this widget with that gadget," Skubisz said. "With us there is more mapping to business functionality. They can have a tighter relationship by understanding their customers' business, how their business is leveraging technology," he said.

Aprisma also debuted new Web-based portal management features to its Web Operator suite that enable end users to personalize network performance data with customized alarm display and prioritized alarms based on their impact to business services.

The new products are scheduled to ship in July. Pricing for Spectrum Infinity starts at $125,000, while Spectrum Integrity starts at $75,000. Web Operator starts at $10,000 and is available with a 30-day free trial.
