ManagedOps Unveils Certification Program For Partners

ManagedOps

The certification was developed in an effort to lift some of the burden off partners that rely on billable hours, especially during the economic downturn where customers are delaying or canceling projects, the company said.

"We want to help them move away from the hand-to-mouth billable hours model and toward a recurring revenue stream," said Tom Brennan, vice president of marketing for ManagedOps, based here. "To live the next month they have to sell a deal this month, and many of them are struggling because of this. With a recurring revenue stream they have a more predictable revenue stream."

As payback for their investment to become certified, partners stand to make two times to four times more on the recurring revenue stream paid out by the company, Brennan said. He would not disclose the current commission structure but said it already richly rewards partners.

"If they invest more in technology, applications and sales training, we pass along a greater margin," he said. "And the certification isn't a big leap for [the partner since they are already knowledgeable in Great Plains/Microsoft applications."

ManagedOps will provide the training.

The application outsourcing company also recently bought the customer contracts of Great Plains ASP competitor Vobix. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are slowly edging out the competition in the [Great Plains/Microsoft hosted space," said Brennan.
