Nortel Authorizes Sprint As Distributor

Sprint will serve as a source of products for network service providers, VARs and other authorized Nortel partners.

The range of products includes Passport, Multiservice switches, Contivity, secure IP service gateways, Baystack switches, Alteon and OPTera.

Sprint said the deal builds on a relationship with Nortel to develop product solutions, sales opportunities and marketing opportunities across Sprint business units worldwide.

Last week Nortel cozied up to Qwest Communications International, signing a deal to cross-sell solutions to the enterprise.

The relationship between Qwest and Nortel is a direct selling deal, which irked several Qwest partners.
