WorldCom Expands Hosting Services

WorldCom

The carrier is now offering co-location customers managed data storage services, global server load balancing and IP VPN remote services.

The data storage services include managed SAN services, NAS services and backup and restore services. The services are subscription based and backed by SLAs, the company said.

The load-balancing services distribute Internet traffic among multiple Web servers housed in WorldCom data centers, and the IP VPN remote services give mobile workers secure access to applications, intranets, extranets and the Internet, the company said.

Existing managed hosting services range from private-line, frame relay, ATM and SONET network solutions to equipment leasing and installation. These services are delivered in conjunction with WorldCom subsidiary Digex.
