HP Storage Exec Defects To EMC

Mark Lewis will replace Jim Rothnie as Hopkinton-based EMC's CTO, the company said in a statement. Rothnie will retire but be given the title of CTO emeritus, the company said.

Lewis had served as vice president of worldwide marketing and solutions for Palo Alto, Calif.-based HP's Network Storage Solutions Group. Before HP's takeover of Compaq Computer, Lewis was vice president and general manager of that company's Enterprise Storage Group and oversaw development of Compaq StorageWorks.

Lewis will report to EMC CEO Joe Tucci, the company said.
