Comstor To Distribute Multiplatform Security Management Solution

The Solfsoft NP suite uses a centralized system to manage several types of network devices and meets Cisco's AVVID (Architecture for Voice and Video Integrated Data) program requirements for Cisco router and firewall interoperability, company executives said.

"Security is no longer just about firewalls," said Bill McFadden, vice president of product management and marketing at Chantilly-based Comstor, in a statement. "An effective solution now involves multiple technologies, addressing many different types of threats. Solsoft's products make a multivendor solution more attractive since it enhances one's ability to manage configuration of multiple products."

The agreement will help solution providers deploy and manage multiplatform security solutions, said Mark Ekert, vice president of sales and marketing at DVBE Tech, a Sacramento, Calif.-based solution provider.
