Daisytek Earnings, Revenue Rise In 2Q

Sales in the quarter were $402.5 million, up 47 percent from $273 million for the same period last year. Revenue includes the integration of the Allen-based distributor's acquisition of ISA International. Excluding ISA, sales grew 17 percent, according to the company.

Before special charges, net income was $3.6 million, or 19 cents per diluted share. Thomson Financial/First Call had projected earnings of 18 cents per share.

"Daisytek has delivered impressive revenue growth throughout all of our divisions. Organic growth was within our stated range of 10 [percent to 15 percent. Earnings exceeded our expectations, and we are poised for further growth through some exciting initiatives worldwide," said Jim Powell, president and CEO of Daisytek, in a statement.

In the United States, revenue grew 25 percent compared with last year.
