Masergy Seeks Partners For Single-Pipe Private Network

Built from the ground up and based on multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) standards for routing packets, Masergy's network delivers voice, data and video over a single pipe, which ensures a higher quality of service and lowering customers telecommunication costs, partners said.

"There is no delay on audio or video on Masergy's network," said Robert Mason, vice president of business development at managed videoconferencing service provider V-SPAN, King of Prussia, Pa. "The picture is like watching TV, and the audio is like being on a phone. We haven't been able to find that kind of quality with other providers."

Since Masergy's network is private, customer content never touches public networks, adding another layer of security, Mason said.

The high quality of audio, voice and video is achieved through a system of dynamically allocating applications based on priority, said Joe Kleckner, senior manager of indirect channels at Irving-based Masergy.

"Our service portal gives customers the ability to prioritize applications to ensure that critical ones run smoothly so [they won't have that jittery videoconferencing experience or lose the audio portion because the network is too congested," he said.

VARs and systems integrators with telco expertise and the ability to handle the entire sales cycle, including front-line customer support, can resell the service. Masergy pays a commission for referrals.

"[Solution providers have the ability to price the offering to their customers as they see fit," Kleckner said.

Training is available from Masergy via its Web site, audio conferences and on-site.
