Sprint Expands Managed Networking Services

The service extends monitoring to any transport provider for frame relay, ATM, IP or private-line connections.

Until now, the main focus of the managed services unit was on WAN and internetworking hardware monitoring and management.

The new services are offered as standardized packages or custom solutions developed with the customer.

The market for managed services is on the rise due to the need for customers to cut IT costs and predict IT budgets, and the number of devices Sprint manages has grown 52 percent in the past eight months, according to the carrier.
