ScanSource Earns $5.8M in 2Q

The company said this is a gain from net income of $4.9 million, or 39 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.

ScanSource posted $250.1 million in revenue, a 20 percent increase compared with $207.9 million for the same period last year.

"Our results this quarter were driven by strong sales in the AIDC and point-of-sale product groups," said Mike Baur, president and CEO of ScanSource. "Our order flow this quarter was very unusual. In the past, this quarter is typically led by a strong October and November, and that wasn't the case this time. This quarter it seemed that customers waited later than ever to make their buying decisions, which provided the exceptionally strong finish in December."

ScanSource expects third-quarter revenue between $230 million and $250 million.
