iPolicy Brings Carrier-Class Security Downstream

The ipEnforcer 3100 and 3400 enterprise-class security systems are based on the carrier-class ipEnforcer products, said Prabhu Goel, chairman and CEO of Fremont, Calif.-based iPolicy.

The ipEnforcer features VPN, stateful firewall, intrusion detection and prevention, DDoS and attack mitigation, URL screening, surveillance and antivirus. Because it leverages single-pass inspection technology, ipEnforcer is able to inspect network traffic in realtime via multiple security services with virtually no latency, unlike integrated security appliances on the market, Goel said.

"Other products are point tools that information has to go through, which burns five times the computer power and can cause a delay, which, if it's a VoIP call, for example, is unacceptable," he said. "We rearchitected the technology so the packet is inspected only one time, and that information and the alert information is used in a systemic way to provide unified security."

The ipEnforcer 3100 provides 100-Mbps throughput, while the 3400 offers 400-Mbps throughput. Both are available starting this week.

Along with the new ipEnforcer models, iPolicy this week is launching its first formalized channel program for all of its ipEnforcer models. The tiered program offers product discounts based on volume and varying degrees of support, according to the company. The company currently has signed up six channel partners, four of them based in the United States, Goel said.

In related news, iPolicy said it has entered into an alliance with Mountain View, Calif.-based Wipro Technologies to resell, deploy and support the ipEnforcer suite.
