GFI Software Demonstrating how crucial it is for IT companies of any size to establish a channel presence, a trio of vendors from various IT sectors have announced new or enhanced partner programs in the past few weeks.

  • Opsware, a maker of IT automation software, has launched a global partner program with more than 45 members worldwide. The program offers new benefits for Opsware partners, including certification training, business consulting services for managed service providers (MSPs), opportunities to garner services revenue by augmenting Opsware delivery teams, early access to products and "aggressive" pricing programs. The program also sets up a formal framework for joint marketing investments and co-selling opportunities.

  • Network security, content security and messaging software developer GFI Software has enhanced its existing Global Partner Program. Among the changes are improved channel sales margins designed to eliminate competition between the VAR and direct market reseller (DMR) partner categories. VAR partners can also now qualify for GFI's Gold, Silver and Bronze partnership levels based on sales, technical competencies and local presence. DMR partners will qualify for product rebates and marketing development funds if they reach certain annual performance goals.

  • Adesso Systems, maker of an application development and delivery program, launched its AppsNOW Partner Program at Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference, this week in Boston. The program offers three levels: NOW.Registered, NOW.Partner and NOW.Gold. All partners will receive free development software, marketplace access for beta test and feedback, developer support and access to NOWForums. NOW.Registered partners get full access to AdessoNOW software, developer tools, developer support and NOW Forums. NOW.Partner members get access to the AppsNOW Marketplace, a software as a service (SaaS) platform, and they also pay a monthly hosting fee and a portion of net revenue from their applications to Adesso. NOW.Gold partners get preferred catalog listing, on-premise deployment and access to marketing opportunities with Adesso.

  • Emerson Network Power, a business unit of Emerson, has expanded the Liebert Network Solutions Partner program to increase training opportunities and sales support, and has added new tiers for high-volume partners of Liebert's mission-critical power and cooling technology. The vendor also has added corporate resources to the Liebert sales channel and expanded its distribution network.
