Verio on Wednesday said it will begin offering a new Windows-based hosting service for small and midsize businesses, Web site developers and ASP.Net developers.
The Centennial, Colo., hosting and managed service provider's Virtual and Managed Web Server for Windows is based on Microsoft's .Net framework, Windows Server 2003 and Internet information Services (IIS) version 6.0. Current customers have the option to upgrade to the new Windows offering.
The Web Server hosting products, available immediately, begin at $89.95, and price varies based on the level of server. Customers also can choose between virtual servers and dedicated server hosts.
"Verio understands that its developer partners require meaningful innovations to help their businesses run smoothly and efficiently, and to increase client satisfaction. Our Web Server for Windows solution delivers tools to enable greater productivity while lowering investment time and cost," said Verio President and CEO Kiyoshi Maeda in a statement.
The Edcomm Group, a New York-based firm that provides online training for banks, resells Verio's hosted services to its bank customers both large and small.
President Linda Eagle said she thinks the new offering will improve on an already quality product. "Verio's Windows hosting plans are the most secure [hosted] Windows servers available on the market, and Verio is very diligent about testing them and really ensuring that we can safeguard our clients' data because security is of utmost importance," she said.
