All new products must be IPv6-compliant, unless approved by an agency CIO.

Products or systems defined as IPv6-compliant must receive, process and transmit or forward IPv6 packets.

IPv6 systems should interoperate with other systems, including those running IPv4 modes of operation.

Non-IPv6-compliant products must have a migration path to incorporate IPv6.

Agencies must have contractor support for development, implementation and product management.

Agencies must provide progress reports on IPv6 transitions.
