SAIC Wins Defense Department Contract Worth Up To $930 Million

Science Applications International Corp. said it has secured a deal to provide integration and testing services to the Department of Defense under a contract worth up to $930 million. <P> The deal was announced Monday. <P> Under the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract, SAIC will provide the department's Joint Test and Evaluation Program Office with a range of technical services, including integration of IT systems, performance monitoring, and validation of testing methods. <P> The contract has a five-year base period worth $465 million, with up to five one-year extension periods renewable at $93 million per year. The Defense Department's Joint Test and Evaluation Program Office conducts operational tests of military equipment on behalf of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. <P> Last week, SAIC announced that it had won a contract to provide security services to the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection unit under a deal worth up to $39.2 million over five years.
