GovernmentVAR Product of the Week: SecuGen Hamster IV

With security top-of-mind for government agencies, solution providers can incorporate the reader into solutions that protect confidential systems from unauthorized access. <P> When used with SecuGen algorithms, Hamster IV provides fast and accurate verification, latent print image removal and encryption of fingerprint templates. The reader is certified by the FBI as compliant with the requirements for single finger capture devices used for the Personal Identity Verification of Federal Employee and Contractors, mandated by Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 12 and defined in the Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 201. When used with SecuGen's Minex Certified Template Generator and Matcher, users can develop PIV-compliant applications that require fingerprint biometrics. <P> Installed on any Windows PC, the Hamster IV verifies fingerprint identification in less than one second, and features an auto-on feature for automatic finger placement detection, USB connection, an integrated finger guide and an optical sensor that uses SecuGen's Surface Enhanced Irregular Reflection (SEIR) technology for durability, accuracy, performance, ruggedness and image quality.
