Earlier this week, AMD recognized Avnet Technology Solutions' Computing Components business unit as its top-performing global distributor for 2006. It is the fourth year in a row that Avnet achieved the No. 1 global distribution position for AMD products.
"Avnet helps our channel partners manage their supply chain for AMD processors and complementary products, such as motherboards, memory and hard drives," says George Condon, senior vice president and general manager of Avnet Computing Components. "By working with Avnet, solution providers and system builders can create a complete build of materials, enabling them to deliver custom desktop, server and mobile solutions for their end customers. In addition, Avnet's technical support team provides design and configuration support for standard systems as well as complex builds, which helps partners expedite their sales processes."
Avnet attributes its long-term success with AMD to its comprehensive support for new product launches. The company prepares for such launches by working with various global and regional AMD-approved infrastructure partners to develop solutions for its OEM, systems builder and VAR channel partners.
