GovernmentVAR Product of the Week: D-Link TAA-Compliant Switching Solutions
May 01, 2007 4:02 PM ET
D-Link recently announced the availability of TAA-compliant models of its most popular managed switching solutions, giving channel partners a larger arsenal of available offerings for targeting federal opportunities.
The Trade Agreement Act (TAA) requires products are manufactured or substantially transformed in the United States or designated countries to be eligible for government purchase. D-Link's first phase of TAA-compliant products, which are available now to resellers from either the company or through distributors, includes the Fast Ethernet Layer 3 DES-3828P (pictured above) and Fast Ethernet Layer 2 DES-3010FA/DES-3010GA switches. Expected to ship later this quarter is the DXS-3250 xStack 48-Port Gigabit Network Switch. Moving forward, the manufacturer plans to grow the TAA-compliant product line to meet the needs of the government customer.
TAA-compliance requirements stand as one of the biggest challenges for solution providers that target the federal government. Now, thanks to D-Link's decision to develop the products strictly under trade-compliant guidelines, partners will be eligible to sell on General Service Administration (GSA) supply schedules. Having a larger portfolio of products to tap into when responding to requests for proposals allows resellers to more easily meet the requirements of the government customer for best value IT solutions.
The manufacturer's suggested retail prices are $2,429.99 for the DES-3828P, $489.99 for the DES-3010FA, $679.99 for the DES-3010PA, and $579.99 for the DES-3010GA. When available, the DXS-3250 will be priced at $4,859.99.
