2011: Technology Channel In Review

Technology Channel year in review

2011 was a quite a year in the technology channel. The cloud computing model truly took shape and while its value became evident, a barrage of cloud outages kept the questions about cloud reliability coming. IT supply chains also took a massive hit this year in the wake of the floods in Thailand, home to much of the world's hard drive manufacturing industry, and the earthquake in Japan, which disrupted the world's semiconductor supply chain. And while the consumer world celebrated the release of Apple's iPhone 4S and iPad 2, the tech industry mourned the loss of Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs.
