Avnet Technology Solutions has created its first offering for the software as a service (SaaS) market. The OneTech Hosted Exchange Services provide e-mail messaging using Microsoft Exchange Server to deliver security, storage and administrative functions, according to the Tempe, Ariz.-based distributor.
The services include hosted mailboxes, secure mail delivery, compliance, filtering and oversight, message archiving, message availability, mobile device support, and antispam and antivirus protection, according to Jack Morris, vice president of technology and market solutions at Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas. "E-mail is a business-critical application for companies of all sizes; however, managing an email system within today's high demand environments and federal regulations is quickly becoming overwhelming," Morris said in a statement. "This presents tremendous opportunities for partners to serve as trusted advisors to their customers by helping them resolve the key business challenges around email management."
OneTech Hosted Exchange Services ensure federal regulatory compliance around retention, content filtering and data encryption, according to the company. In addition, the services feature audit trails to track access and amendments to all records, Intelligent Content Analysis (ICA) to offer accurate detection of potential email-based violations, and archiving for e-Discovery and litigation support.
The offering is part of Avnet's OneTech Managed Services initiative, which also includes database administration, application support, remote monitoring and management services, and messaging services.
