Former Countrywide Financial CIO Joins Fiserv

Jones will have oversight responsibility for global infrastructure, technology governance, and spearheading programs to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's disbursed technology resources.

Including his 12 years at Countrywide Financial, Jones brings with him more than 30 years of technology experience. Prior to becoming CIO in 2000, he served as executive vice president of eBusiness and Systems Architecture. During that time, he established industry-leading technology practices, including developing Countrywide's global mortgage banking software and Web site infrastructure as well as fully replacing legacy systems.

Prior to joining Countrywide, Jones was director of computing and communications at Technicolor, Inc.; owned a technology consultancy; provided EFT/ATM consulting services to large, multi-national banks. Earlier in his career, Jones had system engineering roles with IBM, Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal.

In other company news, Fiserv completed the sale of substantially all of Fiserv's health-related businesses to UnitedHealthcare. The transaction includes Fiserv Health, a leading administrator of medical benefits, Avidyn Health, a care facilitation business, and the Fiserv Health Specialty Solutions businesses. Fiserv Health's pharmacy benefits management business Innoviant is also part of the transaction.
