Oracle Appoints Two Execs To Manage North American Channel Programs

The Redwood Shores, Calif., software giant is essentially splitting Ochs' job in two, naming John Gray to manage channels and alliances for Oracle's technology (database and middleware) products and Tyler Prince to handle similar duties for Oracle's application software.

Ochs, senior vice president of North American alliances and channels, left Oracle in January for the top sales and marketing job at Seattle-based Safeco Insurance Companies.

The specific titles for Gray and Prince weren't immediately available. Gray previously held the post of group vice president of North American ISVs while Prince served as group vice president of strategic systems integrators, industry and Fusion middleware alliances.

The appointments help Oracle rebuild its channel management ranks following the departures of Ochs and Doug Kennedy, senior vice president of worldwide alliances and channels. Kennedy defected earlier this month to take a job with Microsoft, managing channels for that company's Dynamics ERP, CRM and financial applications.

Oracle immediately named Judson Althoff, vice president of global platform and distribution sales and the head of Oracle's Technology Channel Program Office, to fill Kennedy's post.
