Atrion Networking (VARBusiness 500 Rank: 470) said Tuesday it has acquired interactive multimedia company, Shazamm. The buyout will let Atrion offer its clients services such as functional and attentive Web site and communications capabilities, in addition to unified communications, network security and managed services.
Shazamm specializes in detailed Web, print and multimedia communications and marketing solutions. According to Atrion, the two companies share a similar culture and methodologies, although they are in two different areas of information technology.
"Atrion is ecstatic to be able to provide such diversity and comprehensive business solutions to its clients," Tim Hebert, president and CEO of Atrion said in a statement. "With Shazamm as our artistic arm, Atrion's clients will be able to innovate their company literally from the inside out. And all from one trusted and certified industry partner."
Shazamm CEO Dana Paul noted that the combined offerings would be attractive to both existing and potential clients. For example, the completion of the acquisition will provide Atrion's 490 current clients with multimedia opportunities including Z-One, which empowers users to remotely manage and monitor content on kiosks and digital signs, and Z-Media, a Web-based asset management platform.
With offices in Providence, R.I., and New York City, $38-million solution provider Atrion expects to be able to more proficiently serve its regional client base.
