Long-time Hewlett-Packard channel executive Dan Vertrees has left the company to become vice president of enterprise sales at Bell Microproducts. Bell Micro, the San Jose, Calif. distributor, said Vertrees will lead Bell Micro's enterprise sales division in the U.S. and will report to Jerry Kagele, president of North American distribution for the company.

Vertrees last job at HP was vice president of sales, Americas systems integrators, outsourcers and service providers. Vertrees was previously a channel executive at Compaq and joined HP when the two companies merged.

During his channel career at HP, Vertrees worked primarily with the vendor's enterprise channel partners, at one time holding the position of vice president and general manager, enterprise partners Americas.

"It's fantastic to have Dan at Bell," said Larry Holzenthaler, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Total Tec Systems, an HP enterprise solution provider in Edison, N.J. and a division of Bell Micro. "He's high energy, he knows everybody and it really helps to have him at Bell because there are very few people in the country that have access to as many [channel] partners as Dan has."
