VAR 500 solution provider Melillo Consulting has tapped a former IBM executive as its new vice president of sales and marketing.
Kevin Murphy, formerly IBM's director, communications sector, will head up sales at the Somerset, N.J.-based solution provider. Melillo Consulting ranked No. 367 on the 2008 VARBusiness list with 2007 revenue of $61.7 million and is expected to have 2008 revenue close to $75 million, according to the company.
Melillo CEO Mark Melillo was unavailable for comment as was Murphy. But Mark Melillo said in a statement that Murphy's appointment was "the culmination of a lengthy search."
Murphy has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing at IBM, Melillo said.
Melillo Consulting is a Hewlett-Packard enterprise partner as well as an IBM business partner. The company is a systems integrator that provides IT design and implementation solutions to enterprise customers.
