Collins Resigns As Ingram Micro Senior VP

Collins plans to "pursue other interests," the Santa Ana, Calif.-based distributor said. He joined Ingram Micro in January 2000 after 15 years at Frito-Lay.

Collins is the second high-profile, customer-facing executive to leave Ingram Micro this year. In March, Mike Grainger resigned as worldwide president and COO of Ingram Micro.

Ingram Micro announced that it has hired an external candidate to replace Collins: Pat Capparelli, who has been named senior vice president of sales for U.S. operations. He joins Ingram Micro from Purolator Courier, a Mississauga, Ontario-based overnight courier. Capparelli will be based in Ingram Micro's Williamsville, N.Y., office and oversee all U.S. sales efforts, including the distributor's VAR, direct marketer, retail, corporate, government and education accounts.

Keith Bradley, CFO of North America operations at Ingram Micro, has been named interim president of North America while the company conducts a search for a permanent candidate.

"The appointments of Keith Bradley and Pat Capparelli will bring a heightened level of focus to our sales and profitable growth efforts in our largest region," Ingram Micro President Kevin Murai said in a statement. "Our North America region is building ways to create profitable growth and drive higher value in the IT industry for our manufacturer partners and customers."

Collins will transition his sales, marketing and product management responsibilities over the next month, according to Ingram Micro.

"Pat is a strong leader, and we are grateful for all the contributions he has made to the North America region and its executive team. We wish him success with his future career plans," Murai stated.
