Julie Parrish
Vice President, Global Partner Sales
NetApp
Years in position: 8 months
Years in channel: 23
Goals for this year: "Continue to make it easier for partners to do business with us by investing in them. We will be implementing a global survey process to understand partner experience across all touch points. We will also build capability and shift capacity for services delivery to our partners; we have significantly dropped pricing on fee-based services enablement training and changed our compensation model; improved programs, pricing and processes for partners selling into the midsize enterprise market; launch programs for partners that would like to participate in the shift to hosting. NetApp will not be a hosting provider but will work with selected providers to create appropriate solutions and programs for partners to deliver hosted solutions."
Executives you admire: John W. Thompson, former Symantec CEO: "John made several bold moves while at Symantec, including having the vision and leadership to drive the industry agenda around the importance of combining storage and security."
Female role models: "As with mentors, there are many females I have worked with or know that have influenced who I am as a person or how I lead. My mom has been a terrific role model in terms of instilling a sense of duty, responsibility and work ethic. While she did not have a career, per se, she was certainly CEO of the household and led many, many volunteer efforts in every community in which we lived. I have also learned as much from the men I've worked for -- getting their perspective on how to succeed 'as a woman's in a man's world' is as valuable as getting that perspective from other women."
